Claudia Ferguson, founder of San Antonio Violin Suzuki School, has over 25 years of teaching and performing experience. Ms. Claudia studied Suzuki Violin from the age of three in New York from Nicole DiCecco and Libby Clemens. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Ithaca College in 1993, studying with Linda Case and Pamela Gearhart, and then earned a Master of Music in Music Theory from Indiana University in 2001, where she was awarded a full scholarship and an Associate Instructorship of Music Theory. She has performed in many orchestras including the Binghamton Tri-Cities Opera Orchestra, the Cayuga Lake Chamber Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra, and the New York Youth Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Claudia performed in Europe as a member of the North Carolina School of the Arts Orchestra, and at Disney World in the All-American College Orchestra. Now she plays in the UIW Orchestra and the Tuesday Music Club Chamber Orchestra. She has also taught music in the public schools, and has additional training in the Kodaly Method of music education. Claudia is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americans and continues to attend Suzuki training and workshops.
